In Kiribati, buses do not like to pick up school children because they pay less than adults do. Sometimes when children want to get into the van, the conductor shuts the door on them and the driver takes off leaving the children behind. Most of the time, children have to wait for a long time but if no buses stop for them, they just usually end up going back home because they are already so late for school.
